Assassin's Creed Reveals Surprising AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected crossover event that defies traditional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Revealed
According to the authorized announcement, "A mysterious meeting draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where rumors of prohibited rituals and fearsome metamorphoses resonate through the shadows." The storyline introduces a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a clandestine group.
The questline centers on "strange trials and a monstrous foe" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Transformations
The teaser highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview concludes with a powerful moment showing a character, likely the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Extra Content
Players who finish the adventure will receive an special katana alongside several artifacts hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Addition
This update also introduces the game's newest no-cost story episode, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive techniques: Naoe introduces a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.
